The Bow & Arrow cattle herd consists of 900 cows and bred heifers. All of the cows are black or black baldies and are bred to Black Angus or black Gelbvieh bulls. The herd pastures in mountain mesa country on the Ute Mountain reservation in the summer and on the farm project in the winter. FARM & RANCH ENTERPRISE is able to combine reasonably low priced feed sources through the winter with available summer rangeland, providing significant opportunities for the program. This competitive asset, along with strong ranch management, produces a uniform and genetically enhanced product, which is required in today's livestock industry.
